liverpool, letters, late nights or where is the party?

In March Steffi spent one week in Liverpool and we continued to work on MAMA MERSEY. Our creative journey brought us to the state night club, famously featured in “Letter to Brezhnev”. The building is more than 100 years old, sparks amusement history and is currently in an exciting in between stage.

Thanks to the Unity Theatre Liverpool we were able to kick off our project with a research and development phase. Jen came over to Berlin for one week in Febuary 2010. We started to collect material, sketch first ideas and went to see some cool stuff (here, here and here).

HERE WE GO!

Hello, it's us. Jen Heyes, director from Liverpool and Steffi Hensel, theatre maker and playwright from Berlin. We plan to put our forces together to generate a contemporary and fresh theatre adaptation of the Medea material. That’s the idea, it’s called MAMA MERSEY. You can follow its progress on this blog.
